Tárrega comments on first team debut

Youth team player César Tárrega made his Valencia CF debut against CD Utrillas, in the heart of the defence. After helping his side keep a clean sheet in the Copa del Rey, he spoke to VCF Media about the experience.

Making his debut

I'm very happy. I'm proud to have debuted for my boyhood club, playing alongside fantastic players. It was great.

The game

Utrilla came out like we expected, waiting deep for a possible counter. We dominated possession and we tried to neutralise their play and take our chances.

The Copa del Rey

The Copa del Rey is a really nice competition. The coach reminded us of that, and the goal now is to keep on winning and progressing through the rounds.

Difficult conditions

It's always tough to play at these types of grounds, especially with the cold. We had an obligation to win. We were very serious, had a good game and won.
